First, the term refers to the immediate, actual, and particular aspects of things that come to be interpreted and mediated through common-sense modes of knowing. Second, the meaning of 'concrete' refers not only to the actual and particular things as particular, but to everything about these particular actual things. In other words, the 'concrete' is both particular and comprehensive.
